Creating Change
Over the past 17 years, more than 10,000 children have had the opportunity to attend Camp Sizanani. Thousands attend the youth club sessions annually. We have expanded our curriculum to serve younger children, under 11 years old, so they can benefit from the youth club education. The impact of our program is not just in the numbers, though. The real impact shows when a camper tells her story, and she leaves saying, "I am what I am because of you, Camp Sizanani. You've made me proud of myself. You lifted me up when I was down. You helped me to reach what I am reaching. I only came here for 8 days, but there's a lot I have learned."
"Going to camp has made me a better person in life and in my community. I can now distinguish between good and bad. Thanks to your great job. I now look things with a positive mind set and I am now capable of doing what I couldn’t do - meaning that I have indeed faced my fears. I am who I am because of the love and courage you have for your job and for us. THANKS TO YOU ONCE AGAIN." - Kutloano Malepe
"I am an orphan and I attend the youth club in Eldorado Park. For a long time I used to hear my friends speak about how they are loved and respected and I had never experienced that, but here at camp I got that and more and I am so grateful to have been given this opportunity to come learn. I started realizing that I can reach my goals only if I believe." - Keabetswe Letsika
