JOIN THE EMPOWERMENT CIRCLE
Global Camps Africa invites you to join the Empowerment Circle, our community for sustaining donors at every level. The Empowerment Circle is crucial for the sustained impact and growth of Global Camps Africa's mission to empower children. By providing a recurring source of support, this community ensures a consistent and reliable stream of resources that can be directed to Global Camps Africa's education, mentorship, and life-skills training programs.
Your sustaining support will allow Global Camps Africa to plan and implement long-term programs, ensuring continuity and stability for the children we serve. It will support the year-round training required for our South African counselors to respond to children's emerging needs, and will make it possible for us to continue Global Camps Africa's ongoing mentorship programs that foster personal growth and empowerment.
The recurring donations from the Empowerment Circle create a ripple effect. They amplify the organization's ability to reach more children and communities. Your sustaining gift allows more kids to come to camp and helps us reach our goal of accommodating every child who wants to attend follow-up Youth Clubs the opportunity to do so.
With your Empowerment Circle gift, you also become a part of a dedicated global community that shares a common goal of transforming the lives of vulnerable youth. Collectively, Empowerment Circle members are contributing to a sustainable and scalable response to the life-threatening challenges South African children are facing. By joining, you are creating a lasting impact that transcends individual contributions.
The Empowerment Circle ensures that the children Global Camps Africa serve receive ongoing support, opportunities, and the tools they need to build a brighter future. It establishes a strong foundation for the organization to make a lasting difference in the lives of these children, unlocking their potential and empowering them to overcome challenges and thrive.

donate from your ira
If you are not likely to itemize your deductions in this tax year, a gift from your IRA may be a good option. If you are 70½ or older, you pay no income taxes on this gift from your most highly taxed assets. If you are required to take a minimum distribution, this gift can help you fulfill that obligation.
You can give any amount (up to a maximum of $100,000) per year from your IRA directly to a qualified charity such as Global Camps Africa without having to pay income taxes on the money. Gifts of any value $100,000 or less are eligible for this benefit. This popular gift option is commonly called the IRA charitable rollover, but you may also see it referred to as a qualified charitable distribution, or QCD for short.
These contributions can make a substantial impact for GCA'’s beneficiaries. $2,000 sends 4 kids to camp and to Youth Clubs for a year. $50,000 funds a whole camp for 140 children. A win-win for you and GCA!
Why Consider This Gift?
Your gift will be put to use today, allowing you to see the difference your donation is making.
Beginning in the year you turn 72, you can use your gift to satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD).
You pay no income taxes on the gift. The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a tax deduction, so you benefit even if you do not itemize your deductions.
Since the gift doesn’t count as income, it can reduce your annual income level. This may help lower your Medicare premiums and decrease the amount of Social Security that is subject to tax.
Corporate Matching Gifts
Matching Gifts make your dollars go even further. You can often increase the value of your gift two or three times through corporate matching gifts. Contact your human resources or corporate contributions department to see if they participate. They can provide you with a matching gift form to send to us and we'll take care of the rest.
Leave a Legacy
You don’t have to be a Carnegie or a Rockefeller to be a philanthropist. You, too, can leave a legacy to something you believe in: you can give through your will. The gift may be a specific bequest (an item or dollar amount), or may be characterized as a percent of your estate (1%, 3%, 5%, etc.). A bequest offers immediate and lasting recognition to the individual donor, and it helps Global Camps Africa continue to fulfill our mission to help the vulnerable and needy children of South Africa in the future.
Here are a few simple ways you can include Global Camps Africa in your estate plans:
Bequest in Your Will: Specify an amount or percentage of your estate to be donated to Global Camps Africa.
Beneficiary Designations: Name Global Camps Africa as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, or other financial accounts.
Charitable Trusts: Establish a trust that provides for your loved ones while also supporting Global Camps Africa.
We recommend consulting with your financial advisor or attorney to determine the best option for you. Including Global Camps Africa in your estate planning not only secures the future of our programs, but also reinforces your lasting impact on the lives of countless children.
