Communications Intern
Global Camps Africa is seeking a qualified volunteer intern to assist with operational support, donor relations, and community engagement. This internship will be up to 20 hours per week (flexibility based on internship requirements), can be fully remote, and will begin in January 2022.
Responsibilities
Working closely with the Office Manager and Executive Director
Administrative duties including, but not limited to: working with donor database, running donation and mailing reports, analyzing return on investment for various fundraising campaigns, mailing donor acknowledgment letters
Researching current news about world HIV/AIDS issues and events
Drafting and posting to social media sites and organization’s blog
Researching and implementing best practices in digital marketing
Presenting creative ideas that will enhance Global Camps Africa’s visibility among target audiences through earned media, social media, and outreach campaigns.
Formulating and proposing strategies for engagement with college and university students
Qualifications
This is an excellent opportunity for a student seeking broad, non-profit experience and significant responsibility at the internship level.
High school diploma
Outstanding communication, writing, and research skills
Proficiency with social media sites and Google Apps
Ability to work independently with limited direct supervision
Willingness to learn and enthusiasm for working on a small team
Demonstrated desire to add value and stretch beyond basic expectations to make an impact
